About Us

Our ministry started over 2000 years ago by Jesus as He laid hands on those in needed healing.

Matt 9:27-30

The blind men followed Him crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, Son of David” Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this” They answered, “Yes Lord, then He touched their eyes saying, “according to your faith be it done to you, “and their eyes were opened.

Healing

First century Christians took seriously Christ’s commission to “Heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse lepers….”(Mt 10:8a).

In daily life, people prayed with each other for healing. Their actions showed they believed in a God whose love has the power to heal physical, emotional and spiritual wounds. Today, the healing ministry is experiencing a rebirth. Christians are discovering that Christ’s commission was meant for each of us. But we need spiritual maturity and competence to engage in effective ministry. Many who seek to become proficient discover that training programs are scarce or absent in their locality, “Formation For Healing Ministry” is designed to remedy that situation.

Mission Statement

Formation for Healing Ministry (FHM) is taught from a Catholic Christian perspective, it is designed for use by Christian communities of all traditions. Firmly rooted in the foundation of Holy Scripture according to the gospels and through the sacraments of our Catholic Church, we continue the healing mission of Jesus Christ. With compassion, spiritual competence and sacramental care we continue to minister to God’s suffering people in all aspects of life.

How to Have the Healing Ministry visit your Parish

My Dear Friends, Many are asking?

“How do we get you to come to my church?” It is not as hard as you may think.

1. Your Pastor must make written request to Divine Mercy of New Jersey.

2. We then look for a date that works for all.

3. A collection is taken up for the continuation of spreading the work of Divine Mercy. All checks made payable to: Divine Mercy of New Jersey.

4. Where Mass is being said Confession (Reconciliation) is a must!

That is all it takes. We fly Continental Airlines (Coach) and are requesting transported to and from the airport.

International travel we request that HOST Homes be made available for the length of stay.

As of today, only a small amount of dates available.

Approval

The FHM program is approved and encouraged by Very Rev Daniel Syverstad, O.P., Prior Provincial of the Western Dominican Province in the United States. ICM, Institute for Christian Ministries who has developed the program along with a Dominican priest was founded in 1977, the late Father Leo Thomas, a Dominican priest who taught for seven years at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, and who spent five years as co-director of the Dominican Center for Pastoral Training in San Francisco. Six years at the Menninger Foundation influenced Father Thomas’ view and practice of pastoral care. Formation for Healing Ministry was created by ICM to help people become mature, competent ministers of religious healing.

A number of groups throughout North America and overseas are now using FHM program within their faith communities. Graduates serve in many capacities: e.g. prayer group leaders, hospital chaplains, counselors, prison chaplains, nurses, teachers, ministers to shut-ins, Eucharistic ministers, bereavement groups, pastoral care ministers, and prayer team members who pray for those who are sick in body, mind or spirit.

Our mission is to further spiritual formation within faith communities and to sustain training for those called to healing ministry. FHM is for Christians who want to grow in maturity, knowledge and love so they can bring God’s gentle touch to a hurting world.

In Father Leo Thomas' letter addressed to the students of Formation for Healing Ministry, he states the following: If you say,” yes” to serving God as a minister of religious healing, it will involve sacrifices. But I assure you from personal experience that it also will bring you some of the most deeply satisfying, enriching experiences of your life. FHM has always been about people and their relationships with God and with one another. As I leave this life, my thoughts are about you, the people into whose hands I entrust this program. Even after I have gone home to the Lord, I will continue to support you through my prayers. Fr. Leo Thomas went home to the Lord on Nov 18, 1997

Mark 16:15-18

And He said to them: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe in My name, they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues, they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them, they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.

Divine Mercy of New Jersey was founded and organized in April of 2000. In 2001 Divine Mercy of New Jersey assumed another identity that of Divine Mercy Healing Ministry of New Jersey and is Incorporated.

Ministry of Healing Prayer

Ministry of Healing Prayer Teams were present as they laid hands on those who were brought forward sick and in need of prayer. Our teams came together from various parishes throughout the State of New Jersey under the guidance & leadership of Formation For Healing Ministry Coordinator the Late Christina Razzano of St. Justin’s Parish, Toms River NJ. God in His mercy touched & healed TEN supplicants (people) that we are aware of to date at the 2009 Divine Mercy Conference.

Our Healing Ministry travels from parish to parish or wherever we are invited to bring the Mercy of our Lord. We attend many conferences, retreats, healing masses, days of reconciliation, and have prayer team ministry of healing available in some of our community parishes etc. With prayer on our lips and in our hearts, Jesus sends out His Holy Spirit to heal those that come forward for prayer. We become the hands of Jesus and through us miracles happen. We are all called to share in the gifts given to us by God.

1 Corinthians 12 “Gifts of the Holy Spirit”

Our Prayer teams are compassionate and caring, everything that is said or revealed is totally Confidential and will never be spoken about after you leave the prayer team. Our Teams are Professional Prayer Ministers of Healing and no one is ever taken for granted. We are supported by prayer and monetary donations. May God Bless you all, now and forever!

A 8 year old named Isabella Rose Denusulk, living in Florida who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer. The insurance company refused to pay for any treatment at Sloan Kettering in New York. This is the only hospital that specializes in the Cancer Operation she was in need of. We ask that you continue to keep Isabella Rose in your prayers.

She is now 8 years old and doing well. She visits Sloan for scans and testing every 3 months, she is one of the miracles we speak of. If you would like to donate to her Trust Fund, please contact Deacon Vince.
